MICHAEL McBRIDE

Partner in the Shipping Department

Michael studied law at the University of Athens, Greece where he obtained a Law Degree in 1983. He was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 1985.

Michael McBride joined the firm as a pupil in 1984 and became partner in 1989. He has worked exclusively in the firm’s shipping department. He advises ship owners, ship managers and banks on a wide range of shipping issues, including sale, purchase and chartering of ships, trading and shipbuilding contracts, insurance, corporate and taxation issues and regulatory compliance. Michael has written numerous articles on shipping, and has spoken at seminars both in Cyprus and abroad. In addition to advising the firm’s commercial clients, Michael also advises local and foreign governments and semi-governmental organizations on shipping matters. Michael is a founding member of the Mediterranean Maritime Arbitrators Association.
