Experience
Eliana joined the firm in 1973 and became a partner in 1986 and presently heads the ship finance department of the Firm. Before beginning her practice in Cyprus, Eliana worked as a claims executive for a P & I Club gaining valuable experience in a wide range of P & I and defence matters. On joining the firm Eliana specialised in dry shipping
law dealing predominately with shipping disputes involving claims under bills of lading and charterparties, and in ship arrests.
She took many cases to court and spoke at seminars on Cyprus admiralty practice and the arrest of ships. In 1986 she turned her attention to financing and acts for banks and financial institutions world-wide on ship finance transactions and project finance transactions. She is also frequently instructed to act as the Cyprus correspondent lawyer
on matters of Cyprus law by foreign law firms. Eliana has considerable experience in drafting and negotiating financing agreements and security documents in relation to a wide range of complex financing arrangements. She is highly regarded in the shipping world for her work in ship finance and she is listed in many reputable international Directories and Guides for lawyers and consultants, as a leading specialist in her field.
