HARIS AGAPIOU

Charis Agapiou has advanced litigation and advisory experience of over thirty-four years and is the Firm’s principal litigator & team leader regarding banking recovery and other related cases. She represents banking and financial institutions, including investment funds, and advises them on litigation, out of court disputes, legislation and regulations, both of national and European scope.

As part of her range of work, among others, she assists credit and other financial institutions in reclaiming debts from debtors and in enforcing securities, granted by debtors, guarantors and other security providers. Charis also deals with procedures relating to Receiver and Manager matters, as well as rights in relation to debentures. Charis’ knowledge extends to many other aspects of law, including winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings. She advises banks and other institutions regarding procedural steps in relation to the enforcement of obtained judgments, as well as the enforcements of securities, such as mortgages (foreclosure).

Additionally, she advises on the drafting of various legal documents, including facility documents, security documents, notices and letters, as provided by Cyprus law, pleadings, applications and petitions before the Court and all necessary documents to facilitate procedures concerning the abovementioned matters. Lastly, Charis is also heavily involved in advising and drafting settlement agreements, together with ancillary documents, for the out-of-court resolution of disputes over facilities and other banking services.

Charis served as Treasurer and Secretary of the Cyprus Bar Association. She was also a member of the Cyprus Legal Council
