IANNIS CHRISTODOULOU

Yiannis has extensive experience in corporate litigation and admiralty. He has defended one of the majority shareholders in a derivative claim filed by a minority shareholder with respect to a Ukrainian public company and one of the shareholders in a conspiracy claim filed by another shareholder of a Cypriot company of Russian interests listed in AIM. Yiannis has also been advising Ukrainian Banks in relation to litigation strategy on the recovery of millions of US Dollars-worth of debt by creditors through insolvency proceedings and asset-freezing Orders in Cyprus. He has been involved in several commercial/shareholders disputes concerning Cypriot companies holding valuable assets in many cases involving businesses related to gas and oil in Russia and Ukraine and has advised on the prospects to obtain Norwich Pharmacal and various freezing orders in Cyprus in order to facilitate litigation against the wrongdoers in other jurisdictions.

He has also successfully handled the recovery, in favor of overseas Banks, of multi-million US Dollar debts owed to the Banks through speedy arrests and subsequent sales into public auction of vessels. Yiannis also often appears before various arbitration bodies.
